Financing

As the collection of dog tax is generally managed at community level, it is not possible to make a general statement on income. However, in Germany there is an annual revenue of around €200 million, working out at an average of around €37,00 per dog. The procurement and maintenance of dog-waste disposal systems is usually financed by this income. There is therefore no cost to those who do not own a dog.

Although it cannot be expressed in financial terms, the benefit to the general public should in no way be underestimated, who gain a clean and respectable overall appearance in their local recreation area. Tourist regions in particular will find that this has a considerable influence on the well-being of visitors and thus the competitive advantage of the area.
